Adolescent

Adolescence is a period of great transition as children undergo rapid biological and developmental changes. Establishing positive behavioral patterns during this period is important to set them on course for a lifetime of good health.

People’s adolescent health department offers robust services for this population from family planning and social support for young families to chronic illness care and behavioral health programs.

The clinic’s adolescent health team is led by Dr. Celia Neavel, a leading physician in the field of adolescent medicine. Dr. Neavel is a fellow of the Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine and was listed as a premier Adolescent Medicine Specialist by U.S News & World Report in 2012 and honored as a leader in health by the Texas Medical Association Foundation in 2015. She founded and continues to direct People’s Center for Adolescent Health and supervises two off-site clinics servicing homeless and at-risk youth.
