Can I come without an appointment? Are you a walk-in clinic?

We prefer you have an appointment to be seen. If you walk-in, we will do our best to accommodate your needs, but there is no guarantee a same-day appointment will be available. If you would like to make an appointment to be seen, please call 512-478-4939.

Are you an emergency or urgent care clinic?

We are a primary healthcare provider (a doctor’s office) not an emergency department or an urgent care clinic. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

How can I or another family member become a patient at the clinic?

Please call our appointment line at 512-478-4939 to see about establishing care with us!

Do I or another family member qualify to be a patient at the clinic?

Our clinic accepts patients with or without health insurance. We accept Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP. We also accept some private health plans. If you do not have insurance, we will check to see which benefits can be applied to your visit. We have Financial Counselors available to help guide you through this process.

How do I make an appointment? What happens after I make an appointment?

To make an appointment, call 512-478-4939.

In order for us to schedule you an appointment with a Provider, we need to first schedule you a new patient orientation. The reason for this is so we can determine which healthcare assistance program you are eligible for which includes: discount payment, Medicaid, MAP, Title X and Medicare. This may help lower the cost of your visit.

How soon can I be seen?

We want you to have a great experience at People’s. However, we sometimes have limited availability. Please call at your earliest convenience to schedule an appointment, and we will do our best to see you at the soonest date.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please visit the Patient Portal to fill out/download the paperwork for your visit.

All the information we ask for helps us determine how much your appointment will cost on our sliding scale, and know whether or not you qualify for any of our healthcare assistance programs. However, you can still be seen at PCC regardless of your ability to provide this documentation. PCC will protect all of your personal information. If you would like to, you can print and fill out some of our initial patient forms before you come.

Some items you may be asked to bring with you at your first visit include:

  • Photo ID with your name on it
  • Medical insurance card, such as: Medicaid, BCBS, Medicare, CHIP
  • Proof of address so we know what county you live in
  • For People’s sliding scale: one recent pay stub or proof of income within the last 30 days
  • For other government programs: the last 30 days worth of pay stubs or proof of income

How much will I have to pay at my appointment?

Depending on the services provided to you, you may be charged for lab work and medication in addition to your office visit. However, we never turn away a patient if they are unable to pay. Patients receive a sliding-scale discount on medical services determined by your proof of income. We ask that our patients update their proof of income once each year to make sure you receive the best discount we can give you. Our Financial Counselors can help you determine the costs for your situation.

What if I can't make it to my appointment?

If you cannot make your appointment, please call our main line at 512-478-4939 24 hours in advance to cancel and/or re-schedule your missed visit.

Can I bring someone to my appointment with me?

It is important to us that every patient feels comfortable at People’s. Your visit can be private, or you can bring friends, partners, or family with you. While some exam rooms are small, we will try our best to support your needs.
