People’s Community Clinic recognizes the Xi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma for their generosity in donating more than 400 children’s books to the clinic’s Reach Out and Read™ program.
Xi Chapter’s gift will put books directly into the hands of young patients across Central Texas, turning routine checkups into moments that spark curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading.
Why Reach Out and Read™ Matters
Reach Out and Read™ is a nationally recognized program that integrates early literacy with pediatric care. During well-child visits, medical providers give age-appropriate books to children and encourage caregivers to read aloud at home.
Research shows that this simple act supports:
- Early brain development
- Language and literacy skills
- Stronger caregiver-child bonds
- Better readiness for school
At People’s Community Clinic, Reach Out and Read™ ensures that children not only have health care but are also given tools to thrive.
How You Can Help
