I was born and raised and did all of my undergraduate training in Brooklyn, NY. I am a graduate of the Universidad de Monterrey Medical School in Monterrey, Mexico and did my residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine in New Jersey.
I moved to Austin in the summer of 1984 and have been here ever since.
I have been continuously board certified in OB/Gyn since 1986.
I have served as the Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Austin for 10 years.
I have been associated with People’s since 2006 and I have served as the Chair of OB/Gyn at Peoples from 2000-2016.
In addition to my work at People’s I am also the Team Lead Physician for the OB Hospitalist Group at St. David’s Medical Center where I lead a Team of 6 physicians and 6 midwives.
I am fluent in Spanish.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 43 years and we have four adult children. I am an unabashed dog lover and they have shared my home and enriched my life for 43 years.
I have delivered more than 9,500 babies and have no intention of stopping anytime soon!
My personal mission statement is, “the worst form of failure is the failure to try”.
