Volunteer Spotlight – Richard Yuen, PHD

For People’s Board Member Richard Yuen, PhD, a strong community begins with access to affordable, compassionate, and comprehensive care.

His connection to the clinic is deeply personal. Richard’s children are active patients, giving him firsthand insight into the quality and consistency of care People’s provides. Today, he serves on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Clinical Quality Improvement Committee (CQIC).

“At a time when healthcare costs are rising, and Medicaid funding is under constant threat, too many Central Texans are forced to put their health last.”

As a psychologist, Richard is especially drawn to People’s whole-person model, one that integrates medical, mental health, and dental care in a single, trusted setting. His support helps sustain this holistic approach, ensuring patients receive the care they need without barriers.

“People’s is more than a clinic,” Richard shared. “It’s a health care home base.”

That commitment to caring for the whole person is why Richard continues to champion People’s Community Clinic and why his leadership inspires others to support the clinic’s vital work across Central Texas.
