Patient Services

People's Community Clinic is a medical home. We are a primary healthcare provider, a "doctor's office" where individuals and families of all ages come for ongoing medical care. Our medical practice includes adult, pediatric, adolescent, women's health and prenatal medical care as well as social services. We offer all of the services of a primary health provider and have a lab and pharmacy on-site. We also provide limited referrals for some types of specialty care. For a description of our primary service areas, please see Medical Services. Information about the lab and pharmacy are located in the Special Programs area.
The Clinic provides medical care to Central Texas residents who are without health insurance or are eligible for government-sponsored care such as Medicare, Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHIP). The need in Central Texas for uninsured medical services is enormous: the Travis County Healthcare District estimated in December 2008 that 20.7% of the county's population is without health insurance. That means more than 200,000 people must turn to alternative sources for medical care. 10,000 patients call People's Community Clinic their medical home.
In addition to primary medical services, the Clinic offers a number of programs developed in response to areas of need in our community. A list of these special programs and links for more information is provided in the Special Programs area of our website. Patients wishing to take advantage of one of these programs should speak to their provider.
If you have questions about becoming a patient at the Clinic, see our New Patient Information page to see if your questions can be answered there.
