Clinic Celebrates 40th Year in Austin
AUSTIN, TX – May 11, 2010 – With the economy slowly rebounding and many non-profits still struggling to raise money, Austin’s business and community leaders once again showed their support for People’s Community Clinic by raising over $305, 000 at the annual “There’s No Such Thing as a Free Lunch” Luncheon. In addition, the luncheon attendees celebrated the clinic’s 40th birthday with a special presentation by actress Anna Deavere Smith from her Off Broadway show, Let Me Down Easy.
“I am amazed at the commitment of our donors and sponsors in commemorating our 40th birthday,” said Regina Rogoff, Chief Executive Officer of People’s Community Clinic. “PCC’s supporters extend themselves in extraordinary ways so that our 11,000 patients can receive the high quality medical care the Clinic is known for.”
Wells Fargo Bank was the luncheon’s presenting sponsor and major underwriters included Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Fleishman-Hillard International Communications. In addition, Texas Monthly was the media sponsor of this year’s event.
Nearly 60 percent of the Clinic’s funding each year comes from private support. People’s Community Clinic remains indebted to the individuals and foundations that continue to give generously to support its mission.
