March 15, 2007 - a new program providing bicycle helmets to kids comes to the People's Community Clinic.

The People's Community Clinic's association with the Travis County Medical Alliance has brought another worthwhile program to our doorstep. The Clinic is being given childrens' bicycle helmets by the Hard Hats for Little Heads program, and these helmets will be distributed at patient visits.

Hard Hats for Little Heads is an easy tool physicians can use to show their concern for safety and prevention. The benefits are proven: Bicycle helmets can help reduce the risk of head injury by as much as 85 percent. Unfortunately, only about 25 percent of bikers put on a helmet when they ride.
