Back to School Immunization Clinic a Success!

PCC Ensures That Schoolchildren Are Safeguarded Against Disease

Even with sudden rain showers, 234 children received vaccinations as part of People's Community Clinic's Back to School Immunization Day on Saturday, August 18, 2007. Some of the diseases against which children were vaccinated include chicken pox, measles, mumps, rubella and pertussis.

The clinic was made possible due to the generosity of the Travis County Medical Alliance and St. David's Community Health Foundation with additional support from the Carl C. Anderson, Sr. and Marie Joe Anderson Charitable Foundation, the Austin Community Foundation, the Theodore P. Davis Charitable Trust, the Junior League of Austin, the LCRA Employees United Charities, the Meyer Levy Charitable Foundation, Premiere Tents and Events, A Clean Portoco and the Wright Family Foundation of Maryland.

Special thanks to PCC Board member Marina Sifuentes, who single handedly recruited large numbers of Spanish speaking volunteers to better serve our Spanish speaking patient families.
