Volunteer Immunization Policy

Volunteers at PCC who have duties that involve direct patient contact are required to comply with the following immunization requirements before beginning volunteer duties.

  • Required Immunizations: Please submit a copy of your immunization record to the volunteer coordinator for review.
    • Measles
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis)
    • Varicella (chicken pox)*
      *If you have never had a varicella vaccine but you have had the chicken pox previously, you must complete and submit the Evidence of Varicella Immunity WorksheetPDF.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Screening: PCC volunteers who will have direct patient contact must complete the TB Risk QuestionnairePDF.
    • Those at risk for infection with a previous positive TB skin test must provide proof that they do not have active infection in the form of a chest x-ray.
    • Those at risk for infection without a negative TB skin test in the past 12 months must have a TB skin test prior to beginning volunteer duties.
    • Those not at risk for infection do not need to have a TB skin test and may begin volunteer duties once all other immunizations requirements are met.
