People's Community Clinic is fortunate to be the recipient of many generous gifts and grants throughout the year.  We thank all of our partners, funders and collaborators for their support of our operations and programs over the years. 

 

Recent Donor News:  Notable Gifts to the People's Community Clinic

January

  • The Clinic would like to thank the public relations firm of Fleishman-Hillard for their contribution of public relations counsel in 2009 valued at over $51,000.
  • The St. David’s Medical Center Healthcare Volunteers gave a $25,000 grant in support of the Nutrition Education and Health Psychology Program. This program enables patients and their families to better manage their diabetes and prevent the devastating medical complications that can occur.
  • The Still Water Foundation made a greatly appreciated $25,000 unrestricted operations grant to the Clinic.
  • The Clinic's generous and hardworking Board President, Carl Stuart, and wife Claire made a $15,000 contribution to the Clinic for operating expenses.
  • The Carolyn Rice Bartlett Foundation made an unrestricted gift of $10,000 to the Clinic.
  • Studio 8 Architects and owner Milton Hime provided over $5,000 in architectural and design consulting services to the Clinic in 2009.
  • The legal firm of Noelke English Maples St. Leger, LLP hosted their annual social event benefiting the clinic in November. The firm matched all contributions received through the event for a total donation of over $5,000.

December

  • PCC would like to recognize St. David's Medical Center for their generous annual support of the Clinic's operations in the amount of $200,000.
  • The Topfer Family Foundation has renewed their longstanding support of the Clinic with a grant to our pediatric and prenatal programs in the amount of $60,000.
  • The Lola Wright Foundation provided a $12,000 grant in support of computer system upgrades. These upgrades ensure that we can fully support increases in data storage as we complete the transition to the new Electronic Medical Records system.
  • President's Council member David Newberger of Azuma Leasing has mad a contribution of $15,000 in support of Clinic operations.  Other renewing President's Council members include Stefanie and Stephen Griffith's $7,000 contribution, Carol and Douglas Kadison's gift of $5,000 and a donation of $5,000 from the Cathy and Dwight Thompson Foundation.
  • The Bicky Trager Patient Education Fund received a contribution of $10,000 from Nancy and Richard Neavel.
  • The Immunizations Program received a grant of $5,000 from the Carl C. Anderson, Sr. and Marie Jo Anderson Charitable Foundation.

November

  • Wells Fargo announced they would be a $25,000 presenting sponsor for the Clinic's 40th Anniversary Luncheon in 2010.
  • St. David's Medical Center once again has generously provided professional office space for the Clinic's administrative personnel worth over $72,000 per annum.
  • The Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation has made a grant to the Clinic for general operations in the amount of $10,000.
  • The Clinic received a $5,000 grant in support of the Immunizations Program from the Temple Inland Foundation.
  • Jim Whitten Roof Consultants provided a generous discount of more than $5,000 for roofing services after the Clinic's roof was damaged by hail.

October

  • The KLE Foundation made a grant of $15,000 in support of the Reach Out and Read Program. By providing books to children at their well child visits, the program encourages literacy and greater parent/child interaction.
  • The Wright Family Foundation provided a $5,000 grant to support children’s vaccinations. PCC's Immunization Program ensures that our patients do not become vulnerable to preventable diseases.

September

  • The St. Luke’s Episcopal Health Charities provided an $11,000 grant to the Goals Program. The Goals Program provides developmental, behavioral, and mental health services combined physical health care for low income youth.
  • The Clinic received a $5,000 grant from the Trull Foundation for PCC’s services at Phoenix House. There, we provide medical care for adolescents enrolled in Phoenix House’s residential drug treatment and rehabilitation program.

July 2009

  • The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation provided $250,000 in funding for health care services to uninsured families. This funding supports increased access to high quality preventive and acute primary care for children, teens, and adults. This will help the Clinic to deliver care to the more than 2,500 children, 1,500 teens, and 5,500 adults we will serve in 2009.
  • The Center for Adolescent Health received a $50,000 grant from the RGK Foundation. As the only comprehensive adolescent medical program in Central Texas, the Center is unique, following the most up-to-date practices for multidisciplinary adolescent care operating within a primary care clinic.
  • The Integrated Behavioral Health Program was awarded almost $200,000 in support of the program by the St. David’s Community Health Foundation. Since most patients are more comfortable seeking help from their primary care physician, the IBH Program combines mental health services with other primary health services at the Clinic.
  • Ms. Sarah Biedenharn made a much-needed unrestricted operations grant to the Clinic in the amount of $10,000.
  • The Seawell Elam Foundation made a $5,000 to the Clinic in support of the Diabetes and Nutrition Program.

June 2009

  • Impact Austin awarded the Clinic $102,000 over two years in support of our Healthy Babies Initiative. The Healthy Babies Initiative will expand PCC’s efforts to improve the health of the children of our community by providing weekly Saturday pediatric clinics, piloting Austin’s first group visit model for children’s well child checks, and introducing a program to increase the number of nursing mothers among our patients.
  • We received the second installment of a 2008-2009 $50,000 grant from The Dell Foundation to help fund our Adolescent Social Worker. This program provides social work services to pre-teens and their parents through the Center for Adolescent Health at PCC. The overall goal of the project is to help youth and families make a successful transition to a healthy adolescence and adulthood.

May 2009

  • The Donald D. Hammill Foundation provided support to the Integrated Behavioral Health Program through a $10,000 grant.
  • Design and marketing firm Door Number 3 provided the design for print materials for the Clinic's annual Luncheon, a contribution of over $5,000. 

March 2009

  • The Tandem Teen Prenatal and Parenting Project received a $10,000 grant from the MFI Foundation.
  • The Meyer Levy Charitable Foundation made a generous $25,000 grant to support the Clinic's 2009 technology infrastructure upgrades. The Clinic will be implementing new practice management software and electronic medical records in 2009.

February 2009

  • The Austin Community Foundation made a nearly $30,000 grant to support the prenatal department. The grant was made through the Lesley Nowlin, Carla Nowlin Goodman and Georgia B. Lucas Foundation funds at the Austin Community Foundation.
